How to Learn Bodybuilding PosesIf you want to enter bodybuilding competitions you must be familiar with the correct bodybuilding poses. This is an essential part of the competition process. But how will you learn such things? The first way to learn is to watch others, see how the greats of the sport have used bodybuilding poses to show of their physiques. Then try similar poses and see if that is a good way to show off your body. When you find someone to try to copy you need to be sure that they are in a similar weight class otherwise you will simply look silly. You will also need to know how to smoothly change between poses. Many competitors look at bodybuilding poses as another exercise in their daily routine. This is because they know that it is a lot of psychical work to stand on stage and look relaxed while you hold your muscles tightly in place. Therefore you must practice continuously to get your posing routine until it is flawless. It must flow smoothly and look easy. You are expected to be on stage for up to ten minutes. Each pose will last between five and twenty seconds. In between bodybuilding poses you will have another five to twenty seconds to relax. There is also the transition time between poses. Put this all together and you will notice every second of that routine you prepared. Bodybuilding competitors suggest that you begin practicing your poses four to six weeks before a competition. Take twenty minutes and practice your routine until the sweat begins to drip down your face. That is when you will know you have practiced long enough. The main thrust of bodybuilding poses is to flex your muscles. But the ones that you choose to flex should only be those that will make you look better. Never waste your time or energy flexing just to do it. Practice in front of a mirror that will help you to prepare for your first competition.
